Patents
A patent is the legal right of an inventor to exclude others from making or using a particular invention - be it a product or process. Registering a patent not only protects intellectual property, but also promotes university research outcomes and the transferring of innovation to industries by means of license and/or transfer agreements.
As of today, five patents have been issued to the DVS:
- Procedure to detect exogenously administered estrogens in bovines
- Procedure to detect exposure to dexamethasone in animals intended for food consumption
- In vitro kit and method to detect infectious with the bovine herpesvirus type 1
- Use of solid lipid nanoparticles to transport anti-cancer drugs across the blood-brain barrier, in particular for the treatment of brain tumors
- Composition and use of phytotherapeutic drugs for endometritis treatment
